Central Taxes Inc. (CT) provides property tax reserves management for financial institutions (amounts to collect, adjustments, etc.), makes the payments to municipalities and school boards and acts as a single point of contact between financial institutions and these taxation organizations.
Tax Certificate through Telus Assyst Real Estate:
This service allows legal professionals (lawyers and notaries) to order real estate tax certificates through the Telus “Assyst Real Estate” platform. Most notaries in Quebec are already using “Assyst” and its deployment in the Rest of Canada is underway. The CT application that produces the tax certificates is built into the Telus platform.
EPP:
EPP is an acronym for “Equal Payments Plan”. In the event a constituent is unable to pay his property taxes on time, he can subscribe through the Internet to CT EPP service, which will spread the tax payments over twelve months against interest charges established by the taxation authorities. The payments (typically monthly) are processed automatically from the citizens bank or credit card account and automatically transferred to the taxation authorities.
Reserve for Taxes:
Reserve for Taxes allows citizens to create their own reserve to pay for their property taxes. At the desired frequency, the service automatically calculates and collects from the specified bank or credit card account, the amounts required to accumulate enough money to pay the upcoming property tax stubs, which are then automatically paid by CT at the exact due dates. The subscriber doesn’t have to worry about his taxes anymore!
Portfolio Monitoring:
This service, offered to institutional lenders, verifies that the property taxes of their clients are entirely paid within the dates prescribed by the taxation entities (municipalities and school boards). The non-payment of property taxes is a very effective indicator to prevent future defaults on loans granted.
